Inkheart is about this girl called Meggie whose father has this really valuable book called Inkheart. The only problem is that Meggie's father has this strange power which allows him to read things out of books. One day he reads the villain out of Inkheart. The villain, Capricorn, sets about to destroy all the copies of Inkheart so he never has to return, but Mo needs one copy. When he read Capricorn out of the book his wife went into it.
My favourite character was Dustfinger, another character that got read out of the book. He is so mysterious and sad. He really makes you feel for him.
My favourite part of the books was when Resa and Elinor met. It was very wonderfully written. I could just imagine it so clearly.
One thing I didn't like about the book though was that Elinor spent a lot of time swearing. It really did put me off some bits of it. I couldn't like Elinor that much mainly because of the words she said.
All in all though I think this book is well worth reading. I have watched the movie Inkheart and I must say it wasn't half as good as the book. Sorry for all you who liked it, but it wasn't right.
I will give this movie a 7/10 rating. What do you think?
I am a bit busy today, so I only have time for a short post, but I wanted to post it anyway.
Has anyone heard of Grooveshark? If you haven't then you had better go check it out. Grooveshark is a site which has heaps of music (search whatever you want, it is sure to be on there). You can create playlists and share your favourite music on your blogs.
Well to move on, I joined Grooveshark (after using it for ages). At once I set about creating all the things I need. Like favourite music playlists!
I am really enjoying myself. You should join if you aren't already on there.
To finish this post I want to post a my favourite noveling music playlist. Its not very long yet, but its getting longer!
Happy Easter guys! Sorry I haven't written in the past few days. I have been really buys. LIke really:) I'm back now though so don't panic. I have more great blog posts waiting! Hope you had a great Easter:)
Yesterday Nathaniel took me and Lillian out shopping for birthday presents for Dad. Brooklyn and Charlotte went last week with Mum and Adam and Jocelyn were making theirs at home!
Now if you know us then you should know that it takes forever to choose what we want to buy. It wasn't made any easier by the fact that Nathaniel kept joking around and saying we should buy Dad things like roses or a pink purse!
Lillian thought she wanted to buy Dad some liquorice, but she ended up buying him some pens and a notebook instead.
I bought Dad a case for his camera that Mum bought him. Hopefully sometime I will be able to post some photos he has taken with it.
This morning we went to the park for a picnic morning tea. I love picnics, especially when we have finger buns:)
Sadly Dad forgot to bring his new camera with him so we have no photos to post:( Oh well, I have a good memory of how good our picnic tasted.
Later we have some more fun. We are having pizzas in front of the Mulan. I will write a review on Mulan later!
Before I go I want to post one of my favourite songs! What does it have to do with this post? It is about birthdays:)
Last post I promised to write my review on the movie Frozen. Well here is the review. It took some time to write. It is quite a hard movie to sum up like this!
Here we are then, my review:
Frozen is about these two princesses called Elsa and Anna. Elsa has this amazing power to freeze things. It is her biggest secret, not even Anna knows about it.
When Elsa and Anna are still young, their parents dye at sea. It is up to Elsa to be the next ruler of Arandell.
On the day of Elsa's coronation, things go wrong. Elsa looses control of her powers and freezes everything.
In despair, Elsa runs away to the mountains. Planning to hid there for the rest of her life, but her little sister Anna has other ideas. She knows Elsa can unfreeze everything and so she sets out after her sister.
What you must know about this movie is that I really love it! It is only a few more days and it will be out of DVD where I live:)
My rating for this movie would be 9.5 out of 10. There isn't anything dislike about it.
The music in this movie is awesome. It even beats Tangled's music and that's hard to do. My favourite song would have to be Fixer-upper. Its so funny.
The plot was awesome. The surprise at the end really was a surprise. Not like in many movies were they give it all away.
The characters, they had really good personalities. It was like you could really get to know them. They weren't all the same or really boring. Each and everyone of them was interesting, even the less important characters.
if you missed it when watching to movie, watch the song For the First Time in Forever, they're there
One thing to look out for when watching this movie is the one second appearance of Rapunzel and Flynn. My dad totally missed it, even though we pointed it out to him! I think that Disney was thinking of making a cross over between Tangled and Frozen, but I'm not sure.
My favourite scene in the movie was when Elsa and Anna were little. They were so cute. The song Do You Want To Build A Snowman, really helps you to get to know Anna as she is growing up and it really shows how the two sister drift apart.
My favourite character is Olaf. He is so sweet, but ever the slightest bit dim. I think his wish to see Summer is really cute. I thinks its really funny in his song about it how at one point the only word that fits is 'puddle', but he blatantly ignores that and says 'happy snowman' which doesn't fit at all.
Well to finish this off I will just post the trailer for those of you who haven't watched this movie yet!
The other day I was on YouTube, like I always am! I was watching some of my favourite music videos when I found one by Alex Boye that I hadn't watched before.
In case you don't know Alex Boye, he is a musician who takes pop and Africanises it. His music videos are very different. They have that certain something!
Well this video I found was Let it Go. My first though was 'Africanised Let It Go, wow!'. I just had to watch it.
The video is really funny. The main part is sung by this young girl, but she has a whole choir as what I think you call chorus.
It was filmed in this really icy place, besides the main girl, there was a boy acting Hans running around, a girl pretending to be Sven and a girl being Olaf. Also there was a Alex Boye on a sofa flying across the ice rink!(you have to watch to find out what I mean).
Anyway I am sure you want to see this amazing video, so here it is:
You would not believe how long it took me to work out how to put a video in a blog post. Its so easy when you know how:P
Please come back next time. I will be posting a review the movie Frozen. I can't wait!
Life is full of hard decisions. You have to decide whether you would rather enjoy things you love and be different or to give them up and fit in. I face this choice every time we have sausages and burgers.
Why? You ask. Well you see everyone in my family, except Nathaniel and me, like tomato sauce and dislike BBQ sauce. We like BBQ sauce better than tomato sauce though.
Every time we have these meals I have to decide whether to be like everyone else and have tomato sauce or have BBQ sauce which I like oh so much better.
I have to chose whether to be different, have a great meal and have everyone look at me like I am weird or to have tomato sauce, fit in and not have the best meal ever! Hard choice.
Luckily for me though I have mastered the art of ignoring my family. That way I don't have to fit in. I can be different and enjoy myself.
As I think about it, I realise I am very different from most people anyway. I have short hair, braces and an annoying mole on one cheek. I like eating ice cream straight from the tub, I adore peanut butter and jam sandwiches (peanut butter and jelly if you are in the USA), I wear dangly cat earrings, I normally wear skirts, I am interested in mythology and gods. There are so many things that make me different.
Is it always good to fit in? I don't think so. What would the world be like if we were all the same? I don't really want to imagine it.
